Bug Box

This individually hand made Snug-as-a-bug box is a lovely piece of kit for solitary bees and over-wintering invertebrates. Position in a relatively secluded sunny site, 4 to 7 feet above the ground, and it will attract a healthy population of helpful insects including lacewings and ladybirds.
This attractive box is approximately 420 X 305 X 80mm, and has a metal grill over its lower section to stop woodpeckers and other predators making a nuisance of themselves. Its case is made out of durable western red cedar, which will not need treating with potentially harmful chemicals, and each box is made in a small workshop in Dorset. Because they're hand made the illustration won't exactly match your own bug box.
