The latex forms a springy core and is sandwiched between layers of organic coir for extra support, which is then wrapped in anti-dust mite lambswool.

The Latex mat offers more support than the Coco Mat and is ideal for cots, cot beds and single beds.

The mattress is filled with organic coir from the only certified plantation in the world. Coir is made from coconut. It has excellent temperature regulating qualities to prevent your baby from overheating.

The gentle spring of the coir is surrounded by plenty of organic lambswool with natural anti-dust mite protection. This helps with insulation and provides a soft tufting to the top of the mattress.

The mattress has a removable outer cover with a zip at one end. The mattress cover is made from 100% unbleached natural cotton herringbone fabric.

The inner cover is made from the same high quality material. Inside the inner cover is a layer of lambswool tufting, which is naturally fire retardant, anti dust-mite and an excellent thermal regulator, ensuring the mattress is cosy in winter and cool in summer.

Our mattresses are hand made in a Devon factory and can be made to any shape or size.

If the mattress is oval in shape or has rounded corners, we will require a paper template of the existing mattress but if the mattress is rectangular, dimensions (length and width) are all we need.

The organic lambswool comes exclusively from local farms around Devon and Dorset who are certified organic by the Soil Association. The organic lambswool is washed in water from the river Dart. The organic lambswool is bathed in a mixture of essential oils of lavender, lemon and eucalyptus, which renders the mattresses anti-dust mite and gives certified allergy protection.

Do Naturalmat mattresses need to be turned?

The mattress fillings are naturally very resilient and durable but it is good practice to turn any mattress every 3 months.

Do Naturalmat mattresses pass the British safety standards?

Yes, of course. Safety is of paramount importance to us. Natural Mat mattresses not only pass all the required British safety standards (BS EN597, BS 7177, BS 1877 Part 10) but they are one of the only UK manufacturers to do so without using any chemical fire retardants.
