Vegan Organic Liquid Castile Soap Unscented

When I was laid off, I found myself with a lot of time on my hands - too much time some might say! I love to cook and in between searching for jobs, I started searching for recipes and trying them out. One day, bored to death, I started searching for a hobby that would give me something to do to get through what seemed like the longest winter on record. Jobless and cold weather is not a good combination! By combining my infectious enthusiasm for high quality products and natural curiosity for how things are made (I am a biochemist by trade), I began searching for recipes for products I could produce at home. Somehow, my research led me to an article about making Castile soap. Intrigued, I thought, why not! My first batch produced the best soap Ive ever used. Ironically, I noticed my usual winter skin syndrome vanished. I gave samples to friends and family and their response was this soap is great, where can I get more? When my wife used the soap as a bridal shower favor, the guests raved about it. We had people tell us after using our soap, symptoms from chronic skin problems like acne, rosacea and eczema were reduced or eliminated. One client said her skin was so sensitive she could only wash her face with plain warm water for years. Our soap was the first she could use without irritating her skin.* When we decided to make enough soap to share beyond our household, we made a commitment to produce a high quality product by only using the highest quality ingredients we could find. We researched the ingredients found in most commercial and hand crafted soap and found most use a blend of a variety of oils. Our testing showed the gentlest soap was made with 100% olive oil and used the cold process, which follows the formula we traced back to the original castile soap recipe. We only use the very best ingredients in our soap - certified organic extra virgin olive oil, certified organic essential oils instead of "fragrance" for a subtle scent (in our scented soaps), food grade lye and water. Thats it pure, clean and natural. No fillers, surprises or ingredients you cannot pronounce. If you read the labels of other artisan soaps, you will find they are usually made with a blend of oils. We find olive oil gives the soap a silky finish that pampers your skin. The centuries old original recipes for castile soap only used olive and laurel oil. Since laurel oil was harder to find, most soap artisans switched to using olive oil. Our artisan soap is made by hand in small batches using the cold process. Scented soaps have a soft whiff of aroma as subtle and gentle as the soap itself. Since only plant products are used, our soaps are vegan friendly. We are testing new combinations all the time.
