After an extensive career within retail, I wanted to use my skills to really make a difference to people within disadvantaged communities around the globe. Along with my partner, David, we set up Global Crafts in June 2005, with the aim to support artisans throughout the world by bringing their unique hand crafted items to the UK and European markets. We now work with over 20 artisan partner organisations, supporting over 3000 craftspeople from disadvantaged communities. All the suppliers that we work with have a poverty reduction and/or a social justice programme. We have been through a rigorous auditing process and have been accredited the status of Fair Trade Organisation by the World Fair Trade Organisation - the international standard-bearer of Fair Trade.
