These fabric and leather ladies sandals are ethically and lovingly hand made here in England from a carefully chosen vintage floral print.
I have used leather from some recycled boots to compliment the browns and warm off white of the lawn cotton print. To help your sandals stay looking good for longer I use a fabric protector on the textile straps. For the lining of the leather straps I use a microfiber that is made from 88% Recycled Polyester, it performs like suede but is softer to the touch.
The latex rubber sole ( 30 - 35% recycled rubber ) makes them very flexible and has a very good wear resistance. A padded leather insole is vegetable tanned (no toxic chemicals) and gets finished with a surface craft dye and Italian wax finish to give it a rich brown colour. Breath-ability of the insole is maintained by the choice of finishing treatments. The insole will wear to comfort the pressure points of the sole of your foot and as I use a natural leather it will smooth and wear to take on a character that reflects its story over time.
The sizing is a standard European fit but will be loose across the front if you know your foot is narrow.

Its small very small in fact and I work from the eco-friendly studio we built in our garden. Here, as well as making eye patches for the kids (because it's Pirate Day today) I sift through boxes of old boots and shelves of vintage textiles to find the right combination of materials; refining the details that make the difference between a good sandal and a great sandal. I build low-energy Heath-Robininson-style machines and dream of Cholesburys becoming world-renowned for both the quality of my handmade sandals and the ethical and environmentally friendly way I do business.
