Kasny Recon, Inc. was founded in 2007 by Olivier Agouna-Deciat and associates. Olivier, Pinakeen Patel and partners started Kasny Recon to develop natural untapped resources found in their home countries of Chad and India in a fair, sustainable and environmentally sound way. This drive and a natural entrepreneurial spirit quickly sent Olivier on a discovery trip in the southern region of his native Chad (Central Africa) where shea trees have been growing for centuries bearing fruits years after years from the nuts of which shea butter is produced. The countless benefits of this butter for skin and hair care and even nutritional purposes have been well established by centuries of local African traditions as well as modern scientific studies and validations. After an extensive period of research and applicability studies, as a scientist would, Olivier soon found himself one night testing his very first skin care formula using a hand whisk in his home kitchen. From that night on a light was lit, and a new all natural skin and hair care products brand named Shea Touch was born. We are all about touching people lives and very beings with the natural goodness of shea trees, commonly referred to in Africa as the tree of life. Shea Touch has rapidly evolved into a fast growing range of skin and hair care products made with premium shea butter cold-pressed in Chad (Africa) and many other natural ingredients and extracts from India, the US, and from other parts of the world. Drawing from years of experience in our respective fields we came together with the aim to develop healthy and sustainable products that can be safely enjoyed by every one in each family regardless of age, origin or gender. Furthermore, we share a common vision to create business opportunities that lift people out of poverty in places like Chad where our shea butter is produced. All the formulas we create are thoroughly researched, scientifically proven and environmentally friendly. Having started in Oliviers home kitchen, we now operate out of a lab/manufacturing facility located in the Dallas TX area. Our biomedical science research background, educational and cultural diversity, and above all our love for people, are great advantages affording us the potential of creating powerful natural modern products inspired by ages old African and Indian healing traditions, in the light of evidence based science. From our finished products lab in the ever growing and cosmopolitan Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex in Texas, we have the opportunity to easily access top notch technology, some of the best science available and a better global reach. By sourcing our main raw material from Chad, we are directly or indirectly contributing to providing work to local rural farmers and cooperatives of women shea nuts processors. We have been involved in the training of local farmers in best environmental practices regarding care, protection, and sustainable harvest of shea nuts. We are also investing in tree nursery development to help local farmers plant additional shea trees in replacement of old and or dying ones. We recently started a shoe for Christmas campaign that has allowed us to provide new shoes to many children in Chad around the holidays season. This shoe program is well appreciated and our goal now is to grow it bigger and expand our social involvement to new areas such as education (books for children) and preventive health care (immunization campaigns and more) which remain great needs in that part of the world.
